Has your boss asked you to start blogging for your organization but you have no idea how or where to start? Blogs are a great way to connect and create conversation about your nonprofit or an issue your organization is working on. Find out what it takes to blog effectively for your organization. This basic blogging workshop is hands on and will help you learn about launching, writing and publicizing your organization's blog. With Teresa Puente

- How blogging can help your nonprofit promote your message
- Tips on how to maintain your blog and generate content
- How to raise the visibility of your blog using social media
About Trainer Teresa Puente
Teresa Puente has been a member of the full-time journalism faculty at Columbia College Chicago since the fall of 2006, and previously taught journalism and communications at a university in Guadalajara, Mexico. She joined the editorial board of the Chicago Sun-Times in October 2007, and writes editorials and a twice monthly column. A native of Chicago, Puente formerly worked as a reporter for the Chicago Tribune as well as for newspapers in California. She started her career at Hispanic Link News Service in Washington, D.C., in 1991. Puente has written extensively on urban affairs and immigration, and she is a recipient of the Studs Terkel Award given by the Community Media Workshop in Chicago.
