How Nonprofits Can Successfully Use Mobile Social Networking Tools and Location-Based Communities

A Webinar

Presented by DIOSA Communications

This webinar begins with an introduction to the importance of utilizing mobile social networking tools and location'based communities to empower your nonprofit's social media practitioners to report live, on-location from anywhere at any time. The webinar discusses the essential hardware and mobile websites and apps that enable Tweeting, Facebooking, video and photo sharing, live-streaming, group texting, and on-location donation processing from special events, conferences, protests, etc. A special focus is placed on how to utilize this cutting edge technology on a small budget.

The webinar also summarizes how to get your nonprofit set up on location-based communities such as Foursquare, Gowalla, Google Places, and Facebook Places. Nonprofits that are pioneering location-based services are featured, as well as some cutting-edge strategies on how to use these new tools for advocacy, activism, and fundraising.

The webinar will be given by Heather Mansfield (bio), author of Social Media for Social Good: A How-To Guide for Nonprofits and creator of the Nonprofit Organizations Twitter Profile, the Nonprofit Organizations Facebook Page, the Nonprofit Organizations YouTube Channel, the @NonprofitOrgs Foursquare Profile, the Mobile Technology for Nonprofit Organizations LinkedIn Group, and the Social Media for Nonprofit Organizations LinkedIn Group. She also blogs at Nonprofit Tech 2.0. To date, Heather has given over 400 Webinars and trainings on how nonprofit organizations can successfully utilize social media and mobile technology. A firm believer in putting your money where your mouse is, Heather also donates 10% of the proceeds from her webinars to her favorite nonprofits.
